Optimising DC Charging
An optimum battery temperature improves the charging capacity at a DC quick- charging station and shortens the charging time. For this purpose, the function controls heating of the high- voltage battery for electric vehicle route planning with charging stops.
Opening the menu
- Open the Charging main menu in the Infotainment system.
- Tap the optimizing DC charging function button.

③ Required time until maximum DC charging capacity.
The coloured bar in the middle of the screen shows the optimization potential for the DC charging capacity.
No further optimization is possible if the bar is completely filled.
The display may vary depending on vehicle configuration.
Optimizing the charging capacity automatically
In the case of electric vehicle route planning with charging stops (DC quick- charging stations), heating of the high- voltage battery is switched on before the respective charging stop is reached. The required time for heating is calculated automatically.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Check that Optimizing the rapid-charging function with active route guidance is activated and activate the function if necessary.
The maximum charging capacity of the local quick- charging station at the charging stop is taken into account. The displayed DC charging capacity can therefore vary at individual charging stops.
Optimizing the charging capacity manually
The function can be started manually at any time and without the electric vehicle route planning function of the Infotainment system, e.g. before arriving at a quick- charging station.
- Open the "Optimize menu.
- Tap the Start battery heating function button.
The maximum possible DC charging capacity decreases at high charge levels.
