# Electric Childproof Lock
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
In the driver door: touch panel for electric childproof lock
|
|
|
|
$①$ Touch panel for childproof lock.
|
|
|
|
The electric childproof lock prevents opening of the rear doors and the electric windows in the doors.
|
|
|
|
# Switching the electric childproof lock on and off
|
|
|
|
Switching on: press the touch panel. Switching off: press the touch panel again.
|
|
|
|
The indicator lamp in the touch control lights up yellow when the childproof lock is active.
|
|
|
|
# Error message on Infotainment system or on instrument cluster display
|
|
|
|
If the electric childproof lock is operated and a rear door is opened at the same time, the electric childproof lock cannot be switched on or off at this door.
|
|
|
|
An error message is shown on the Infotainment system or on the instrument cluster display.
|
|
|
|
1. Press the button for the electric childproof lock again in order to synchronize the status of the rear doors.
|
|
2. If the error message does not disappear, have the vehicle checked by a suitably qualified workshop. Volkswagen recommends using an ID. UNYX Service Center.

# WARNING
|
|
|
|
When the electric childproof lock is activated, the rear doors cannot be opened from the inside.
|
|
|
|
Never leave children or people requiring assistance alone in the vehicle when the doors are locked. This may mean that these people lock themselves in the vehicle. They could become trapped in the vehicle in
|
|
|
|
an emergency and may not be able to get themselves to safety. People locked in the vehicle may be subjected to very high or very low temperatures.- Temperatures inside a locked vehicle may be extremely hot or cold depending on the season. This can cause serious injuries and illness or fatalities, especially among small children. |
