Boot Lid with Easy Close

The Easy Close function can be activated only if there is a valid vehicle value in the operating range of the boot lid.
- Stand centrally behind the bumper.
- Move your foot and shin quickly towards the bumper.
- Then quickly move your foot and shin away from the bumper again.
- Leave the sensing range with a valid vehicle value and the boot lid will close.
Easy Close will be activated for a period of time. An acoustic signal confirms activation.
The boot lid will be locked after closing if the car has been locked and there's no valid car value in the car.
Easy Close allows a maximum of one vehicle value to be locked into the boot.
The closing operation will be interrupted as soon as a vehicle value comes within the operating range again. The boot lid will then open again.
If a valid vehicle value is located close to the boot lid, the Easy Close function can sometimes be operated accidentally, causing the boot lid to close, for example when sweeping underneath the rear bumper or if maintenance and repair work is carried out in the area around the rear bumper. If the boot lid is closed by mistake, this can cause injuries to persons in the path of the boot lid and material damage.
Always make sure that there are no valid vehicle values left unattended in the operating range of the boot lid. Always make sure that no one is in the movement path of the boot lid. Do not hold on in the movement path of the boot lid. Always switch off the Easy Close function via the Infotainment system before carrying out any maintenance or repair work on the vehicle. The closing operation will be automatically interrupted if another boot lid function is activated during closing or if objects are detected in the area of the boot lid.
The boot lid locks automatically after closing if the vehicle is locked and there's no valid value in the car. If the vehicle is completely unlocked before closing the boot lid, the boot lid will not be locked automatically after closing.
