On the instrument cluster display: Seat Belt Wearing Status
After the ignition has been switched on, the seat belt warning system for the rear seats on the instrument cluster display shows the driver whether the adult rear seat passengers have fastened their seat belts.
When the start switch is switched on, the combination instrument displays the seat belt wearing status of the corresponding seat. This indicates whether the occupant in the driver's seat has fastened his or her seat belt.
- The green symbol indicates that the passenger on this seat has fastened their seat belt.
- The red symbol indicates that the passenger on this seat has not fastened their seat belt.
- The grey symbol indicates that this seat is not occupied.
# Seat Belt Warning for the Front Seats
If the driver or passenger in the passenger seat does not fasten the seat belt correctly at the start of the journey and the vehicle speed is above approx. $25\mathrm{km / h}$ , or if the seat belt is unfastened during the journey, a warning
tone will sound.
The red warning lamp also flashes on the instrument cluster display.
The red warning lamp will not go out until all occupants have fastened their seat belts when the ignition is switched on.
# Seat Belt Warning for the Rear Seats
If a seat belt for one of the rear seats is unfastened while the vehicle is in motion, the corresponding symbol will light up red for this seat. The red warning lamp also flashes on the instrument cluster display. If the vehicle is travelling faster than approximately $25 \mathrm{km / h}$ an acoustic signal will also be given for some seconds.
## WARNING
The wearing requirement is designed for the detection of adults. Reliable identification is not possible if the seat is occupied by a person of lower weight, especially a child. Tethering requirements also provide limited or no response if child seats and cushions are used.
- Always ensure that all vehicle occupants, especially children, have fastened their seat belts properly.
