# Caring and Cleaning the Vehicle Interior
|
|
|
|
It is recommended to refer to the following precautions when cleaning and maintaining parts.
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
# NOTICE
|
|
|
|
Improper cleaning and maintenance can cause damage to the vehicle.
|
|
|
|
Never use steam cleaners, brushes, hard sponges, etc. It is best to have stubborn stains removed by an authorized service station.
|
|
|
|
# Window glass
|
|
|
|
Clean the window glass with glass cleaner.
|
|
|
|
Dry the window glass with a clean chamois or a non- shedding soft cloth.
|
|
|
|
# Textiles, microfiber materials, artificial leather
|
|
|
|
Regularly use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt from parts to prevent permanent damage due to friction. Use appropriate interior cleaners or Volkswagen original interior cleaners to remove dirt. For oil- based stains such as engine oil, use appropriate interior cleaners or Volkswagen original interior cleaners. Wipe away dissolved grease and pigment components with an absorbent cloth. Rinse with water if necessary. For stains from ballpoint pens or nail polish, use appropriate interior cleaners or Volkswagen original interior cleaners. If necessary, treat with a neutral soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water). Never use leather conditioners, solvents, floor waxes, shoe polish, stain removers, or similar items. Never use high- pressure cleaners, steam cleaners, or cold sprays.

# Genuine leather
|
|
|
|
Genuine leather- Use a cotton cleaning cloth and neutral soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water) to remove fresh stains. Do not allow liquids to seep into seams.- For stains from ballpoint pens or nail polish, use appropriate leather cleaners or Volkswagen original leather cleaners.- For dried stains, use appropriate leather cleaners or Volkswagen original leather cleaners.- For oil- based stains such as engine oil, use an absorbent cloth to remove fresh stains.- Regularly apply leather care lotion to the seats after each cleaning. When parked outdoors for extended periods, cover the leather to prevent direct sunlight.- Never treat leather with solvents, floor waxes, shoe polish, stain removers, or similar items.

# Plastic parts
|
|
|
|
Plastic parts- Clean with a damp soft cloth.- If stubborn stains cannot be removed with neutral soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water).- Use plastic cleaners without solvents or Volkswagen original plastic cleaners if necessary.
|
|
|
|
# Chrome, aluminum or stainless-steel trim and trim strips
|
|
|
|
- Clean in a dust-free environment with a clean, soft cloth and mild soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water).- Use appropriate chrome and aluminum care products or Volkswagen original chrome and aluminum care products to maintain anodized surfaces.
|
|
|
|
# Operating elements
|
|
|
|
1. Use a soft brush to remove coarse and hard-to-reach dirt.
|
|
2. Then use a clean, soft cloth and a small amount of neutral soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water). Do not allow liquids to enter operating elements.
|
|
|
|
# Cluster and infotainment system display
|
|
|
|
Do not clean the cluster and infotainment system screen in a dry state.
|
|
|
|
1. If cleaning the infotainment system, turn it off temporarily.
|
|
2. Use an appropriate cleaning cloth or Volkswagen original cleaning cloth with a small amount of water, appropriate glass cleaner, or LCD cleaner.
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
The head- up display may slip out of the track if too much pressure is applied, such as during cleaning.
|
|
|
|
- Do not press too hard when cleaning the head-up display.
|
|
|
|

Only use neutral cleaners and clean, soft cloths to clean the head- up display.
|
|
|
|
# Rubber seals
|
|
|
|
Clean with a non- shedding soft cloth and plenty of water.
|
|
|
|
Regularly treat with appropriate rubber care products or Volkswagen original rubber care products.
|
|
|
|
# Seat belts
|
|
|
|
Seat belts1. Fully extend the seat belt and keep the belt webbing stretched. 2. Use a soft brush to remove large debris. 3. Clean the seat belt with a neutral soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water). 4. Allow the seat belt fabric to dry completely before winding it back.

# WARNING
|
|
|
|
Improper cleaning can lead to damage of seat belts, mounting devices, and seat belt retractors.
|
|
|
|
Never attempt to modify or disassemble seat belts for cleaning. Never clean seat belts and their components with chemicals.
|
|
|
|
- Do not use corrosive liquids, solvents, or sharp objects.- Prevent liquids and foreign objects from entering the seat belt buckle.- Seat belts must be completely dry before winding back.
|
|
|
|
# Wood veneers
|
|
|
|
Wood veneersClean with a soft cloth and a small amount of mild soap solution (add up to two tablespoons of neutral soap powder to one liter of clear water).
|
|
|
|
# Cleaning seat covers
|
|
|
|
If seat covers are stained with colors from fabrics that are prone to color bleeding, such as denim, this does not indicate a defect in the cushion fabric. Seat covers contain airbag system components and electrical connectors. If damaged, improperly cleaned and handled, or soaked, it can cause damage to the vehicle's electrical devices and may also cause the airbag system to malfunction.

|
Depending on the equipment, electrical components and plug connections are installed inside the seat surface with seat heating devices. Improper cleaning and handling can damage these components and plug connections, which can also cause damage to other parts of the vehicle's electrical devices.
|
|
|
|
Never use high- pressure cleaners, steam cleaners, and cold sprays. Never soak seat covers. Never turn on seat heating devices to dry seats. Do not use scouring paste or low- temperature laundry powder solutions. If in doubt, please go to an authorized service station with the appropriate qualifications. Volkswagen recommends ID. Component maintenance and cleaning can affect the function of the vehicle's safety equipment and cause injury to occupants.
|
|
|
|
Only clean and maintain parts according to the manufacturer's instructions.
|
|
|
|
Wear and dirt marks naturally appear more easily on lighter colored materials inside the vehicle due to normal use. These signs of use are unavoidable and are an inevitable part of aging due to normal use. Please refer to the appropriate care instructions. |
