# Unlocking the boot lid manually

The boot lid can be unlocked and opened from the inside when an occupant is trapped in the vehicle and cannot escape through another door. The emergency unlock switch is located in the lower trim panel on the inside of the boot lid.

Insert a screwdriver or other suitable tool into the circular groove on the inside of the luggage compartment lid. Turn a screwdriver or other tool in the direction of the arrow to unlock the luggage compartment lid. After unlocking, push the luggage compartment lid outward until it opens.
