# Troubleshooting
Damage to tyres and rims often occurs insidiously.
If you suspect damage to one wheel, slow down and stop safely as soon as traffic conditions permit.
# Runaway or abnormal vibration
The vehicle runs from side to side or vibrates abnormally while driving. These may be signs of tyre damage or excessive tyre pressure.
Check the tyres!
Reduce the speed of the vehicle immediately and stop as soon as traffic conditions permit and it is safe to do so.
1. Check tyres and rims for damage.
2. Do not continue driving with damaged tyres.
3. Replace the damaged wheel. Call a professional if necessary.
4. if the damage cannot be recognised externally, drive slowly and cautiously to the nearest appropriately qualified authorised workshop to have the vehicle inspected. Volkswagen recommends an ID. UNYX Service Center.

# Foreign Objects in the Tyre
Foreign objects are attached to the tread surface or stuck between the tread blocks.
For vehicles equipped with self- repairing tyres: Leave the foreign object in the tyre and head to a qualified authorized service station. Volkswagen recommends ID. UNYX Service Center. The sealant coated on the inside of the tread encircles the foreign object and temporarily seals the tyre.
1. If the foreign object embedded in the tyre tread has reached the inside, let it stay there! In contrast, objects stuck between the rubber blocks of the tyre tread can be removed.
2. Replace damaged wheels. Call a professional if necessary.
3. Check and adjust tyre pressure.
4. Visit an appropriately qualified authorised workshop. Volkswagen recommends an ID. UNYX Service Center.
# Loss of tyre grip
Vehicle may lose grip and tailgate when travelling around corners. Braking distance is longer and the Anti- Skid Control System (ASR) and Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS) adjust earlier.
Tyres may be too worn to ensure adequate traction.
Drive slowly and cautiously to the nearest appropriately qualified authorised workshop to have the vehicle checked. Volkswagen recommends an ID. UNYX Service Center.

# Wheel bolts take a lot of effort to loosen
Wheel bolts may rust over time. As a result, the wheel bolts can take a great deal of effort to loosen.
- Seek professional assistance or drive slowly and cautiously to the nearest appropriately qualified authorised workshop to have the vehicle checked. Volkswagen recommends an ID. UNYX Service Center.

# WARNING
Unusual vibrations during driving or vehicle run- off indicate possible tyre damage. Tyre damage can lead to loss of vehicle control, serious accidents and fatal injuries.
Slow down immediately and stop as soon as traffic conditions permit and it is safe to do so. Check tyres and rims for damage. Do not continue driving with damaged tyres or rims. Instead, stop the vehicle immediately and seek professional help. If the damage is not recognisable from the outside, drive at the appropriate slow speed and with caution to the nearest appropriately qualified authorised workshop to have the vehicle checked. Volkswagen recommends an ID. UNYX Service Center.
