# Preparing the Vehicle

# Checklist
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
The following actions must always be carried out in the given order in preparation for changing the wheel:
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
1. If your vehicle has a flat tyre, park the vehicle on a firm and level surface at a safe distance from moving traffic.
|
||
|
|
2. Switch on the electronic parking brake.
|
||
|
|
3. Deactivate the vehicle's drive system and switch off the ignition.
|
||
|
|
4. Ask all vehicle occupants to leave the vehicle and stand at a safe distance away from moving traffic.
|
||
|
|
5. Switch on the hazard warning lights and set up the warning triangle. Observe any legal requirements.
|
||
|
|
6. Chock the wheel diagonally opposite the wheel being worked on with a stone, collapsible chocks or another suitable object.
|
||
|
|
7. Remove any items of luggage from the luggage compartment.
|
||
|
|
8. Remove the vehicle toolkit from the luggage compartment.
|
||
|
|
9. Remove the wheel cover (if applicable).
|

|
