# Entering a Destination and Starting Route Guidance
|

||
|
|
Depending on the vehicle equipment, different functions are available for destination input.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
The different methods for destination input can be found in the main menu of the navigation system.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
You can more precisely limit the search by indicating preferences in the results list, such as "nearby".
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
# Entering an address
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
Start route navigation by entering an address. The navigation system will suggest known destinations during input. You can also enter a new address for route guidance.
|
||
|

1. Tap Q.
|
||
|
|
2. Enter the address of the destination and select the desired destination.
|
||
|

3. Tap Start.

|
Navigation uses saved data, such as historical destinations, favorite locations, home and work addresses, to make them available for use in destination navigation.

||

||
|
|
|
||
|
|
The navigation system uses stored data such as the last and learned destinations, favourites, and home and work addresses so it can use this data for route guidance.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|

# Last destinations
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
Navigation stores multiple recently used trip destinations for use in destination navigation. New trip destinations automatically overwrite old ones.
|
||
|

|

||

2. Tap the desired destination.

||

You can save multiple trip destinations as frequently used destinations.

|
The navigation map contains active areas at many locations which are suitable for destination input. To enter a destination, tap the desired position or location on the map. You can start route guidance if map data is available at this location.

|
||
|
|
Destination input via the navigation map depends on the data status and is not possible for all positions.
