1. Remove the charging cable from the charging station or connect the charging cable to the power supply and fully unwind.
2. Unlock the vehicle.
3. Press on the charging socket flap to open it.
4. Plug the charging connector straight into the charging socket and check to make sure that it is inserted completely.

If the charging plug is connected, the indicator lights on the combination instrument panel will illuminate white.
# Starting the charging process
1. Adapt the upper battery charge limit in the Infotainment system to obtain the desired range.
2. If necessary, activate the charging station.
The charging process starts.
Charging station or socket (AC charging): If the vehicle recognizes a saved charging location, the charging process will initiate according to the settings of that location, such as immediate charging to the battery's minimum charge level and the scheduled departure time.
If the high- voltage battery is charging, the indicator lights on the combination instrument panel will blink green
# Interrupting the charging process
The charging process can be interrupted at any time.
1. Tap "Stop Charging" in the Infotainment system. If the AC charging cable automatic unlocking option is selected in the infotainment system, the charging plug will unlock automatically.
2. The charging process can be restarted by clicking a button in the infotainment system.
3. The charging station may need to be restarted if necessary.
# After charging
If the high- voltage battery has reached the desired level of charge, the charging process indicator light on the charging socket will illuminate green.
1. Unlock the vehicle. Or: If the automatic unlocking option for the AC charging cable is selected in the infotainment system, the charging plug will unlock automatically.
2. Pull the charging plug out of the charging socket within 30 seconds.
3. Close the protective cover of the charging port.
4. Close the battery charging flap until it clicks into place. Fast charging station (DC charging): The charging plug will automatically unlock and can be removed from the charging station after charging is complete.
# Charging for the first time and after a long period of inactivity
If the high- voltage battery is new or has not been charged for a long time, it may require several charging cycles to reach maximum capacity. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction of the vehicle.
If the vehicle is not used for an extended period, the high- voltage battery should be charged at the latest after four months.
The maximum length allowed for DC charging cables at charging stations is approximately 30 meters.
Charging of the high- voltage battery may be restricted in very low or very high temperatures.
