# Preparing the Vehicle for Working in the Bonnet Space
|

||
|
|
The following steps should always be carried out in the specified order before working in the bonnet space:
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
1. Park the vehicle on a level and stable surface.
|
||
|
|
2. Depress the brake pedal and hold.
|
||
|
|
3. Activate the electronic parking brake.
|
||
|
|
4. Switch off the ignition.
|
||
|
|
5. Remove the vehicle value from the vehicle and keep in a location outside the vehicle so that the vehicle is not put into operation accidentally.

||
|

6. Always keep other persons away from the bonnet space.
|
||
|
|
7. Secure the vehicle against rolling away.

||

High voltage of the electrical system can cause electric shocks and burns. This can result in serious or fatal injuries.

- Never short circuit the electrical system. The 12-volt vehicle battery could explode.- While the vehicle's drive system is active or being activated, never touch high-voltage components, the high-voltage battery, or the orange high-voltage cables in particular.
